Mission & Purpose

The mission of Millersburg Area Working Together (MAWT) is to promote the success of local businesses, encourage tourism to our region, increase community events and engagement, and enhance the overall well-being of our area.

Our purpose is to:

• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses to support their growth and sustainability

• Collaborate with government agencies to advocate for tourism and regional development

• Engage with community organizations to foster economic progress and cooperative initiatives

We are committed to ensuring that our community remains vibrant, welcoming, and prosperous.

MAWT operates as a nonprofit organization in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and the Pennsylvania Nonprofit Corporation Law. Any income generated is used solely to support the mission and operations of the organization and is not distributed to any individual.

Membership Overview

Membership is open to business owners, community members, and volunteers who want to actively contribute to the mission of MAWT. There are no membership dues; however, active participation is required.

Member Rights

Members have the right to:

• Vote in the appointment of board members

• Contribute ideas and perspectives

• Request to bring issues or topics to the board for consideration

Participation Requirements

To remain in good standing, members are expected to:

• Attend the annual membership meeting (held each November)

• Participate in at least one MAWT event per year

• Serve on at least one committee and contribute to its efforts

Clearances

Members who volunteer for activities involving children may be required to obtain child clearances in accordance with Pennsylvania law.

Submitting a membership application does not guarantee membership. All applications are reviewed and approved by the Board.
